Since the beginning of this year, China's motor exports have declined, and the development of motor export enterprises is facing many challenges. In this regard, Zhang Sen, secretary general of the Electrical Branch of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, suggested that China's electrical enterprises must strengthen technological innovation, improve production technology, improve product quality, accelerate transformation and upgrading, and break through the bottleneck of development.
Weak market demand
Affected by the decline in overseas market demand, China's exports of electrical products have declined since the beginning of this year. According to customs statistics, from January to July, China's exports of electrical products were US$8.7 billion, down 9.1% year-on-year.
From the perspective of export regional markets, in the first seven months, China's exports of electrical products to Africa were US$350 million, a year-on-year increase of 8.6%; exports to North America were $1.19 billion, down 19.9% year-on-year; exports to Europe were $2.62 billion, down 12.7% year-on-year; Exports to Latin America were $700 million, down 2.4% year-on-year; Exports to Asia were $3.7 billion, down 5.3% year-on-year.
From the perspective of specific country markets, since the beginning of this year, among the top ten export destinations of motor products, the amount of motor products exported to Japan has increased, and the amount of motor products exported to United States and Germany has decreased. Data show that from January to July this year, China's exports of motor products to Japan amounted to about 580 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 12.9%; exports to United States were US$1.1 billion, down 19.9% year-on-year; Exports to Germany amounted to $450 million, down 13.8% year-on-year.
At present, China's main motor export products are still small and medium-sized motors. Since the beginning of this year, among all kinds of motor products, the export value of large motors has declined the most. According to the data, from January to July, the export value of small and medium-sized motor products was 6.34 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 6.7%; the export value of large motor products was 450 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 32%; The export value of micro-motor products was US$1.82 billion, down 22.2% year-on-year. DC motors and DC generators with an output power of ≤ 750W are still the largest single products exported to China's motors.
Accelerate transformation and upgrading
Since the beginning of this year, the price trend of copper, which is the main raw material for motors, has increased the instability of the operation of enterprises.
After years of development, China's motor industry through innovation, cooperation, introduction and other ways to accelerate the improvement of production technology level, has formed a certain industrial scale and industry pattern, but with the rapid development of information technology, intelligence has become an important trend of industrial development, countries on motor quality, efficiency, durability, environmental performance and other requirements continue to improve, to China's motor export enterprises have brought great challenges.
"At present, the industry enterprises do not invest enough in high-end equipment, and the process level is relatively backward compared with first-class manufacturers in United States, Japan, Europe and other countries and regions. At the same time, the role of the industry R&D platform is not fully played, the high-end, intelligent and green level of production equipment is low, and there is still a breakthrough in the production of high-end, precision and new motors. Zhang Sen said.
In the face of many challenges, how can China's motor industry break through and achieve high-quality development? In this regard, Zhang Sen suggested that motor enterprises should grasp the initiative of scientific and technological innovation and accelerate the pace of intelligent transformation. Motor enterprises should not only increase investment in technology research and development and innovation, master key core technologies, accelerate industrial transformation, improve product performance and quality, and promote the upgrading of motor products. Promote the implementation of basic frontier and common key technology research, through R&D innovation, process improvement, process optimization, etc., to resolve the rising costs, and strengthen the construction of independent brands, enhance market competitiveness, and actively explore the international and domestic markets, strengthen international cooperation, and win advantages in the industry.
At the same time, the relevant state departments should also step up the formulation of motor industry planning, and promote the development of the motor industry in the direction of high efficiency, supporting and energy saving. Zhang Sen suggested that the local government should plan the development of the motor industry from a forward-looking and strategic height, combine the local resource conditions, sort out the motor industry as a whole, develop advantages, make up for shortcomings, and focus on accumulating key technologies; Focus on green and low-carbon, energy conservation and consumption reduction, build a cohesive and orderly industrial chain, and guide and promote the development of industrial modernization; Guide enterprises to establish a global vision, benchmark international advanced experience, actively seek new development space and new cooperation models in the industry, participate in industrial competition, and take the road of open innovation and international development; To formulate policies, standards and other means to standardize the behavior of market entities, from the preferential tax and other aspects to give support, reduce the operating costs of enterprises, continue to optimize the business environment, and promote the new development of the motor industry.
